4KG ANCHOR SAND (DANFORTH) 8LB HDG
Description
Danforth, or Sand anchors are a popular boat anchor due to their light weight & efficient design.
Design: Danforth anchors have a unique two-fluke design with pointed tips. They are hinged at the crown to pivot and dig into the seabed when force is applied. This hinged design also makes them convenient for storage and transport as they store flat. They also have a retrieval eye for ease of removal if the anchor becomes snagged.
Material: Heavy duty hot dipped galvanised steel for durability and to prevent corrosion.
Versatility: Danforth anchors are versatile and work well in various seabed conditions including sand, mud, and soft bottoms. They are not as effective in rocky or hard seabeds. When properly set with sufficient scope (anchor rode length), they can provide excellent holding power.
Maintenance: Regular maintenance is necessary to ensure the anchor remains effective, including checking for any signs of wear or corrosion.
Remember that the choice of anchor depends on various factors including the size, weight & type of your boat, the seabed conditions you encounter and your boating preferences. It is essential to select the right anchor type and size for your specific needs to ensure safe and secure anchoring.
If in doubt: Get in touch and our expert team will assist you in selecting the correct anchor for your needs.
